What I do at FreeAgent
Working with various parts of the company to create events, both in person and online, or find suitable events to exhibit at, which are aimed at our target markets. Coordinating with specific parts of the business to ensure that these events are fully branded, advertised and have great follow up and most importantly come in on time.
Why FreeAgent
FreeAgent is simply a great company to work for, very caring about it's employees, helping everyone to grow, and simply a fantastic bunch of people to work with.
Finance/Accounting does have a bit of a stuffy reputation, but that cannot be said for FreeAgent. It's simply a place where you will be encouraged to give your best, and you will receive the best in return.
Who am I?
I worked for many years in the marketing department of a UK wide wholesale drinks company, eventually running the promotions and loyalty team, negotiating with suppliers for the best deals and pulling together our monthly promotional brochure to drive sales of our key products and encourage cross selling and upselling.
As part of this role we ran a number of events which mainly focussed on wine tastings, trade fairs and hospitality for our customers and prospect customers.
I came into FreeAgent and created an events department to help build awareness of our brand and to encourage new customers to sign up.
Advice for prospective candidates
Read up about who our target markets are and note our tone of voice in everything we do.
Prepare some great examples of where, because of your attention to detail, you have averted a problem, or when something has gone wrong, how you stepped in and turned this around.
I would also like to hear about where you have "thought outside the box" to add that extra sparkle to an event.
