Who are we?
FreeAgent was born in 2007 with the goal of making small businesses happier and more successful by putting them in control of their finances.
Nowadays, our accounting software helps over 150,000 small businesses and their accountants and bookkeepers streamline their admin, connect their finances and relax about tax.
From hiring our very first employee back in 2008, we’ve grown to nearly 300 employees who all share the same vision and values. FreeAgent was acquired by the NatWest Group in early 2018, but we remain operationally independent of the group.

Our interview process: what to expect
Our interview process varies a little depending on the job you’re applying for and the department it’s in. To help you prepare, each job advert includes details on the specific hiring process for that role, so you know what to expect. However in general, all of our roles include the following:
A phone interview
We'll talk through your motivations, skills and experience, and help you get a feel for whether the role is right for you.
A practical exercise
Our hiring process usually involves a practical aspect that's relevant to the role and helps us get to know your working style.
A face to face interview
One or two interviews to meet some of the team and find out more about the role. These will be online or office based depending on the team.

We’re passionate about creating an inclusive process, removing any unnecessary barriers and enhancing your experience as a candidate.
Oh, and we’re a relaxed bunch, so when it comes to interviews please don’t feel like you have to suit up to impress. We’re much more interested in you and how you can help us achieve our goals and ambitions. Whatever you prefer though - we really don’t mind!
